Designate Kankai Town in the vicinity of Shinchi Station as a new activity center aiming to achieve environmental symbiosis, local production and consumption of energy, and full preparedness for disasters.
Pose a series of questions to residents in Kankai Town, such as what they see as a desirable community development (environmental energy community development) and where they find their identifies in the town.
Discover and create cultural identities of a new town through interviews with residents and discussions among them to promote community development and residential settlement.
Cultural mapping
Identify tangible/intangible cultural resources to understand the community's uniqueness and identities.
Play a role to connect smart technology and residents (smart citizens).
Workshops with residents participation are being prepared at Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City by graduate students. The workshops will later be used for exercises in Shinchi Town.
Cultural resources identified from interviews and surveys are depicted on a map. Clicking on a site icon will bring up relevant interview footage and information.
