Working Group for Shoei Junior High School in Shinchi

This working group aims to provide region education based on university studies. A lecture on the theme of “Initiatives for Environment, Energy, and Community Development in Shinchi” was given in line with environmental & energy education at the school.

Working group for communicating the appeal of Shinchi

This working group aims to communicate the appeal of Shinchi Town based on the results of surveys conducted by participating universities. The group will work with Shinchi Town, its tourism association, and other participants to discuss creation of maps and other means to communicate the appeal of the town and communicate information from UDC Shinchi, etc. based on the compiled results of activities conducted by participating universities.

Working group for handing down food culture and developing local specialties

This working group held a cooking workshop for students from Tokyo to disseminate Shinchi Town’s dietary culture using its local agricultural products, promote dietary education, and deepen their understanding of local cuisines, which will help develop new local specialties.

[Collaboration participants] The University of Tokyo, Mejiro University, Shinchi Town Planning and Promotion Division, Shinchi Town Tourist Association, volunteers from Japan Agricultural Cooperatives, business operators, Shinchi Town Commerce and Industry Association, etc.

Working group for energy issues

This working group held study sessions on the progress of regional energy projects and their assessment methods in cooperation with local governments and local electric power providers. They were realized thanks to the support of NIES, participating universities, community members, neighbor local governments, regional electric power providers, etc.
